Services and Pricing

Writing success comes in many forms, but in our view, it always includes a great story with dimensional characters, told well. That’s what we’ll help you achieve.

Our complete novel (or memoir) editing services go far beyond simple corrections of grammar or style, delving deeply into issues of plot and structure, character development, voice, pacing, description, dialogue, theme, and much more.

Whether you’re aiming for success in the traditional publishing arena or hoping to self-publish your work, we push you to be your best, to create a work of fiction that will fire readers’ imaginations AND their ongoing loyalty. In short, our objective is to help you make your novel or work of creative nonfiction all that it has the potential to be.

As writers ourselves, we appreciate the investment you make when you use our services. As such, we’ve tried to create a variety of services to best meet your needs. That said, if you’re looking for something we haven’t covered here, contact us by phone or email, and we’ll do our best to work with you.

TWO-PART MANUSCRIPT EDIT/EVALUATION

This is the most thorough and intensive approach to the editing of your work, breaking down the process into two separate stages: a thorough developmental edit followed by a separate (and equally thorough) line-edit.

This option includes:

PART ONE:

  • A comprehensive review of the manuscript for all issues of story and character development, etc.
  • A fifteen-to-twenty-page single-spaced report covering those issues in great detail.
  • One hour of follow-up discussion via Skype or Google text chat.

PART TWO:

  • Once the novel has been reworked according to our findings in PartOne, we offer complete line-editing of the manuscript in its entirety,  with comments made using the Track Changes feature in MS Word.
  • Half-hour follow-up phone conference or online conference via Skype.
  • Review of synopsis/query letter.
  • Ongoing support and feedback during the marketing process.
  • 10% discount off further work.

Price: $3,175 for novels up to 375 pages (or 90K words). $7 per each additional page (of 250 words each).

Note: This can be broken into two payments of $1600 and $1575, paid with each part undertaken.

COMPLETE MANUSCRIPT EVALUATION

This is a consolidated version of the above.

This option includes:

  • A ten–fifteen page report on all aspects of the manuscript.
  • Thorough line–editing and in–text commentary of a minimum of the first one-hundred pages; light commentary within the remainder.
  • Half-hour follow-up via Skype or Google text chat.
  • Review of synopsis/letter to agents.
  • Ongoing support and feedback during the marketing process.
  • 10% discount off further work.

Price: $2,475 up to 375 pages (or 90K words). $7 per each additional page (of 250 words each).

PARTIAL MANUSCRIPT EDITING AND EVALUATION

An evaluation of the first three chapters or one hundred pages of an author's work.

This option includes:
